Solid Brass Wall Charger 31.5" — Hand-Chased Fu Good Fortune, Birds, Fish, Hong Kong
A large solid brass wall-hanging charger produced in Hong Kong, circa 1960s. The face is densely hand-chased across its entirety: the central medallion displays the Chinese character 福 (Fu — good fortune) within concentric rings of geometric punchwork including triangles, dots, and herringbone bands. The surrounding field depicts birds in flight, koi, and flowering branches worked in fine line. A scalloped, raised rim carries additional stippled detailing, and a hanging loop is affixed to the reverse. Stamped "Made in Hong Kong" on the back.
CONDITION Very good. The decorated face retains strong visual presence with crisp chasing and bright brass tone throughout. Minor surface scratches on the reverse consistent with age; no remarkable damage.
