Wabi-Sabi Primitive Slab Low Table — 2" Top, Through-Tenon Legs, Antique
A heavily aged primitive low table in the wabi-sabi tradition — thick 2-inch solid wood slab top on four hand-hewn cylindrical legs joined by through-tenon stretchers that pass fully through the leg posts. The deeply checked edges, iron nail heads, and worn dark gray-brown patina are intrinsic to the piece, not incidental to it. At 12¾ inches tall, it functions equally as a floor-level accent table, sculptural display platform, or meditation space element, and pairs naturally with Japandi, brutalist, and organic minimalist interiors.
CONDITION
Good. The table is solid and structurally sound throughout, with all mortise-and-tenon joints holding firm. The edges of the top show open checking and longitudinal cracking consistent with age and drying; the slab face shows deep scoring, scattered iron nail heads, and uneven surface wear throughout.
