Live Potted Key Lime Tree — Mexican Lime, Citrus aurantiifolia
The Key Lime (Citrus × aurantiifolia) — also known as the Mexican Lime or West Indian Lime — is the fruit behind Key lime pie, fresh ceviche, and a proper margarita. This is a well-established specimen with a woody multi-stem trunk, thorned branches, and a wide-spreading open canopy of small, glossy ovate leaves characteristic of the species. At 31" overall, it's well past the starter-seedling stage and carrying meaningful root development in a large 13"-diameter pot.
Key Limes thrive in the Mesilla Valley's climate — USDA Zone 8b to 9a puts Las Cruces squarely in the tree's comfort zone for most of the year. Bring it in during hard freezes and it will reward you with fragrant white blossoms and a steady supply of small, intensely aromatic limes. For local buyers who've hit the agricultural shipping wall trying to order citrus online, a healthy established specimen like this one is genuinely hard to come by without growing it yourself from seed.
CONDITION Very Good, as shown. The upper canopy is full and actively growing with healthy foliage. Some dried leaf litter visible at the soil line, typical of an established container specimen. The plastic planter shows light surface scratching and minor water staining consistent with outdoor use.
