1940's Cambridge Glass 'Cheese Preserver' Purple Hue Glass Container
- Sanitary Cheese Preserver
- The January 1940 Cambridge catalog as item #1570 Cheese Preserver Jar
- Two piece glass container designed for keeping cheese. Inside the container are glass ridges, like an internal stand or rack, that are about 3/4" high. A block of cheese would rest on them. Below would be added a solution of vinegar, salt and water to help preserve the cheese and keep mold from forming.
- The instructions for use are printed on the lid along with the words Sanitary Cheese Preserver
