About the Artist:
James Boren (1921-2010) was a Texan artist known for his dedication to traditional values in art. After receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1951, he taught at St. Mary’s College before working as a concept illustrator for Martin-Marietta Company. In 1965, he became the first art director of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, later focusing solely on painting. Boren was a prominent member of the Cowboy Artists of America, serving in leadership roles and earning numerous awards. His artistic journey took him from Texas to Paris and even to China, where his work was celebrated for its mastery of mediums, particularly watercolor.
