Victorian Oak Writing Box with Key
Nicely made small oak box with ornate decorative brackets, hand engraved symbol on lid. Working lock with key. Interior has three slots to hold cards or envelopes. The metal bracket at the bottom right would have stabilized an ink well, and the metal bracket on the left side would hold two pens. There are four corner brackets on the inside of the folding front to hold sheets of writing paper.
Condition:
Old damage to the back top corner.
One old age cracks on the back panel.
The lid stands slightly ajar when unlocked, but locks down with a key.
