Arcade Cast Iron 8" Sedan Toy Car – Restored, ca. 1926–28 Chevrolet Style
Step back to the roaring 1920s with this solid cast iron sedan by Arcade Manufacturing Co., Freeport, Illinois, one of the most respected names in early American toy making. Produced around 1926–1928, this handsome 8-inch model captures the elegance of the era’s Chevrolet sedans—complete with a two-piece body, detailed grille, and a jaunty driver at the wheel.
Freshly restored in rich emerald green and deep black with fine gold pinstriping, it rolls on authentic Republic Rubber Co. (Youngstown, Ohio) cream-colored tires, the same style Arcade used nearly a century ago. The gleaming silver radiator, red tail lamp, and spare tire on the back add a touch of vintage flair. Weighing over three pounds, this toy feels more like a miniature machine than a plaything—testament to Arcade’s motto: “They look real!”
Condition
Good overall and professionally restored, with a smooth, glossy finish and period-correct detailing. Tires retain crisp “Republic Rubber Co.” sidewall markings; axles roll freely. No cracks or structural issues noted. Some minor handling marks consistent with age and display. Please review all photos for details.
