Arcade “Red Baby” IH Cast Iron Dump Truck with Driver & Decals

Few toys capture the spirit of early American industry like this Arcade Manufacturing Co. “Red Baby” International Harvester dump truck, produced in the early–mid 1920s. Cast entirely in iron and finished in its original red paint, this rugged toy was designed to mirror the real International Harvester trucks then transforming farms, factories, and city streets across America.

This example retains its original “International Harvester Trucks” decals on both cab doors along with the “An Arcade Toy” marking on the dump bed—details collectors prize and often find missing. A cast driver figure sits at the wheel inside the open cab, bringing the truck to life. The working dump bed is operated by Arcade’s clever side lever and rope mechanism, a hallmark of the company’s mechanical ingenuity and durability. Marked “Made By Arcade MFG Co” and featuring a cast “A” foundry mark, this piece exemplifies why Arcade toys were considered the gold standard of American cast iron production. 

Condition
In good condition with honest signs of use. Paint appears original with visible wear, chipping, and surface oxidation consistent with age. Original decals remain intact but show wear and loss. All major components appear present, and the dump mechanism operates. No cracks observed; wear is cosmetic and appropriate for an original survivor.
