Arcade No. 226 Cast Iron International Panel Truck, 1930s
A true heavyweight of early American toy history — this is an original Arcade Manufacturing Co. cast iron International Panel Truck, model No. 226, produced in the early 1930s. Finished in factory gray and black with a yellow beltline and orange Goodrich “Heavy Duty Cord” rubber tires, it captures the rugged optimism of the Depression-era roadways. The cab includes a cast metal driver, while both doors proudly display the blue-and-white International Harvester logo decal.
Cast markings underneath read “226 L,” “226 R,” “USA,” “86,” and “ZS,” and the base retains its original “An Arcade Toy” label — small but powerful evidence of genuine Arcade craftsmanship. Built with flathead screws and precision-cast panels, this was more than a toy; it was a miniature tribute to America’s trucking industry.
Condition
In good original condition with honest signs of age and play. Paint appears original with scattered surface wear and small chips consistent with its 1930s manufacture. Goodrich-marked rubber tires remain intact with mild toning. Decals are legible, and all flathead screws appear original and undisturbed. Displays beautifully with genuine vintage character.
