Vintage Cast Iron Sedan Toy Car — Marked “USA 4,” c.1920s–30s
Charming early American cast-iron toy sedan, finished in deep red with cheerful yellow disc wheels and cast-in door and fender details. The underside bears the marking “USA 4”, a numbering style seen on several unbranded cast-iron vehicles from the 1920s–1930s. While not definitively attributed, its form and proportions closely resemble A.C. Williams Co. sedans of the same era—compact, solid, and built with the company’s hallmark one-piece body design.
Condition:
Good overall with visible signs of play and age. Paint appears original with wear and scattered losses; minor oxidation to wheels and underside. Structure remains sturdy, and wheels roll smoothly. Honest patina enhances its period charm.
Dimensions:
2.5" H × 5.25" W × 2" D
Weight: 11 oz
Collector’s Note:
The “USA 4” stamp has not been conclusively tied to a specific maker, though it aligns with numbering styles found on unmarked A.C. Williams and Arcade castings. Continued comparison with period catalogs and collector archives may yield further insight.
