Arcade Cast Iron Ford Model T Sedan No. 3 – 1920s Original Unrestored Toy
Step back into the roaring 1920s with this authentic Arcade Manufacturing Co. cast-iron sedan, marked “ARCADE No. 3” with the foundry code S6 beneath. Made in Freeport, Illinois, Arcade was America’s leading name in cast-iron toys, and this petite 5-inch Ford-style sedan captures all the charm of the early automobile age—arched fenders, tall windows, and that proud upright “Tin Lizzie” stance.
Cast in solid iron and weighing just over a pound, this toy once rumbled across parlor floors and sidewalks under the watch of delighted children. Today, its dark patina and traces of original finish tell a century-old story of play and preservation. The rolling wheels and loop hitch at the rear recall an era when toys were built to last—and built entirely by hand.
Condition:
Good, displaying honest play wear from age. Finish shows oxidation and paint loss typical of its era, with wheels and axles original and secure. Unrestored and full of character, this piece retains its authentic surface and mechanical integrity.
Dimensions:
3" H × 5" L × 2¼" W
Weight: 1 lb 1 oz
Collector’s Note:
Arcade’s “No. 3 Sedan” appeared in catalogs during the mid-1920s to early 1930s and remains one of the firm’s most recognizable small-scale vehicles. Its S6 mold mark identifies the production mold used in the Freeport foundry
