Kenton “Jaeger” Cast Iron Toy Concrete Mixer — 1930s American Industrial Classic
A true gem from America’s golden age of cast iron toys — this Kenton “Jaeger” Concrete Mixer, made in Kenton, Ohio during the 1930s, beautifully captures the spirit of early industrial ingenuity. Crafted in cast iron and aluminum, it replicates the real-life Jaeger cement mixers once seen on bustling Depression-era construction sites.
The toy features a hand-cranked rotating drum, tilting pour lever, and a rope-and-pulley hoist for the loading bucket — all designed with remarkable mechanical accuracy. Painted in its original red, green, and silver enamel, the embossed “JAEGER” name across the front proudly reflects the authentic collaboration between Kenton Toys and the Jaeger Machine Co. of Columbus, Ohio.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with honest age and character. Retains original paint with areas of wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with play and time. Tires show degradation, and one rope is detached/broken. Tested and operational, with hand crank and drum movement intact. Paint appears original with no evident restoration. Sold as shown.
Dimensions:
6 1/4" H × 8 1/2" W × 8 1/4" D
Weight: 2 lbs 14 oz
Collector’s Note:
Few toys capture the era’s mechanical artistry like this Kenton Jaeger mixer. It’s where American craftsmanship met miniature machinery, inspiring young builders of its time
