American Cast Iron Coupe Toy, c.1920s — Heavyweight Charm on Six Spokes
A delightful unmarked cast iron toy coupe, dating to the early 20th century, likely around the 1910s–1920s. This solid black-painted car features six-spoke metal wheels and the distinctive slotted screw “take-apart” construction used by several early American makers, including A.C. Williams, Hubley, and Kenton. Its rounded roofline, molded doors, and elegant fenders mirror the streamlined automobiles that first captured the public’s imagination.
Condition:
Good overall with age-appropriate wear throughout. Paint is chipped in several areas, wheels are slightly askew yet functional, and minor oxidation is visible on the surface. No cracks or repairs detected. Retains appealing patina and authentic period character.
Dimensions:
Overall: 3.6" H x 2.5" W x 6" L
Weight: 22.7 oz
