Description

John Scherber "On The Corner"

This captivating oil painting by John Scherber, titled "On the Corner," captures a scene of architectural beauty with strong, angular lines and rich, earthy colors that evoke the spirit of Southwestern landscapes. Scherber’s expert use of light and shadow adds depth, bringing the adobe-style building to life against a bright, clear sky. The green-tinted windows contrast beautifully with the warm terracotta hues, creating a balanced composition that draws the viewer into the scene.

About the Artist:
John Scherber, a Minnesota native, settled in Mexico in 2007. He is the author of twenty-four Paul Zacher mysteries (The Murder in Mexico series), set in the old colonial hill town of San Miguel de Allende. Twenty Centavos, the first of these mysteries, is in development for a TV series. In addition, two volumes of the Townshend Vampire Trilogy have appeared, as well as his four nonfiction accounts of the expatriate experience.

His work is known for its fast pace, irreverent humor, and light-hearted excursions into the worlds of art and antiques––always with a cutting edge of suspense. While he has acknowledged being no single one of his characters, he also admits to being all of them.
