Najaco "Jimador" Ceramic Figurine – Handmade in Tonalá, Mexico

This handcrafted ceramic figurine by Najaco, from Tonalá, Jalisco, Mexico, represents a Jimador, a traditional agave harvester. The figure is dressed in a beige outfit with black distress details, a red belt, and a classic wide-brimmed sombrero. He holds a coa de jima, a traditional harvesting tool, with a finely painted agave piña (core) at his feet, symbolizing the tequila-making process.

Made from barro cerámico (ceramic clay), this piece is 90% handmade and lead-free, as indicated on the attached original Najaco tag. A small hand-painted gourd sits beside the Jimador, adding to the charm and authenticity of this folk art sculpture.

Condition:

In very good condition, with minor wear consistent with age. Paintwork remains vibrant, and the structure is intact. The original Najaco tag is present, further validating its authenticity.

  • Height: Approx. 12 inches (30 cm)
  • Base: Approx. 7 x 6.5 inches
  • Weight: Approx. 2.2 lbs (1 kg)
