The Beatles “Yellow Submarine” LP – Capitol SW-153, Apple Label Stereo, EX
A U.S. stereo pressing of Yellow Submarine by The Beatles, released by Capitol Records (SW-153) and featuring the classic Apple label — green Apple on Side 1 and sliced Apple on Side 2. This version dates to approximately 1971–1973, during the Apple Records distribution era, as indicated by the rim text “Mfd. by Apple Records, Inc.” on both labels.
This vibrant soundtrack blends six Beatles tracks — including “Hey Bulldog,” “All You Need Is Love,” and “Only a Northern Song” — with George Martin’s original orchestral score composed for the 1968 animated film. The back cover features a colorful collage of characters from the film alongside whimsical liner notes by Dan Davis, capturing the psychedelic charm of the era.
Pressed in the U.S. during the early 1970s, this stereo copy showcases The Beatles’ playful, experimental side with lush production and a collectible design that stands out in any vinyl library.
Condition:
In excellent condition overall. The vinyl is clean and glossy with no visible scratches or surface marks. Labels are sharp and unworn. The outer sleeve is fully intact with no edge or corner wear, showing only faint natural toning from age. Inner sleeve is present. A beautifully preserved example, ideal for collectors.
