Description

Steely Dan – Aja (AB 1006) & Gaucho (MCA 6102) – 2 LP Set, Excellent Condition

Two essential Steely Dan LPs: the landmark Aja (1977, ABC Records, AB-1006) and its follow-up Gaucho (1980, MCA Records, MCA-6102), both in excellent, like-new condition. These original U.S. pressings showcase the band’s peak studio innovation and signature jazz-rock fusion.

Aja features iconic tracks such as “Peg,” “Deacon Blues,” and the title track “Aja,” with guest appearances from Steve Gadd, Wayne Shorter, and Larry Carlton. Known for its audiophile-grade production and sleek aesthetic, Aja earned Platinum status and remains a critical high point of 1970s studio craft.

Released after a three-year hiatus, Gaucho builds on that legacy with lush, meticulously arranged songs like “Hey Nineteen,” “Babylon Sisters,” and “Time Out of Mind.” Despite a troubled production, Gaucho won a Grammy for engineering and remains a collector favorite with its distinctive MCA rainbow-label pressing.

Both albums come with their original jackets: the striking black-and-red minimalist cover of Aja and the elegant tango-themed artwork of Gaucho. A standout pair for collectors and audiophiles alike.

🧼 Condition (Visually Verified)

Vinyl surfaces on both records are in excellent condition — glossy, with no visible scratches or signs of wear. Labels are bright and unmarred, with no spindle marks. The sleeves are also excellent, showing only light shelf handling and no tears, seam splits, or discoloration. The Aja gatefold is crisp and clean, with lyric content intact; the Gaucho jacket retains its original soft matte finish and vivid artwork.
