Talavera Lidded Jar & Frame — Hand-Painted Puebla Pottery, Signed Pair

A charming pair of hand-painted ceramic pieces in traditional Talavera style: a lidded jar signed “Talavera Lidia Pue, Mex” and a coordinating picture frame marked “H. Mex Puebla.”

A vibrant pair of hand-painted ceramic pieces from Puebla, Mexico, done in the iconic Talavera pottery style. The lidded jar is signed "Talavera Lidia Pue, Mex" and the coordinating picture frame is marked "H. Mex Puebla."

The jar features a classic bulbous form with domed lid and pointed finial, decorated in layered bands of floral, leaf, and fruit motifs in bold cobalt, red, green, and orange hues. The easel-back frame carries matching folk-style floral decoration on a cream base with a vivid lime green edge.

Talavera pottery is a time-honored tradition, developed in Puebla in the 16th century, blending Spanish and indigenous ceramic techniques. While these pieces are artisan-marked, they may not be certified Talavera, but beautifully represent the regional style and spirit.

Whether displayed together or separately, this colorful duo adds cultural charm and artisan character to any space.
