Desert Dream Talavera Plates – Hand-Painted by Ulises, Mexico (Set of 2)
This vibrant pair of Talavera-style ceramic plates is hand-painted in rich desert tones and stamped “Ulises / Mexico / Lead Free” on the verso. Each plate features a traditional scene of a figure standing in the landscape, surrounded by cactus and crowned by a glowing sun—one on a golden yellow background, the other on a deep red. Both are framed with navy blue rims and designed with rear mounting holes for easy wall display.
These plates are wall mountable and crafted in a bold, raised-paint style, typical of Mexican folk art. The glazing is glossy and the details expressive, making them great for display or decorative collections.
Condition: Good overall. Minor surface wear consistent with prior display. One plate (yellow background) has a ¼" chip on the back, not visible from the front. No cracks or front-facing flaws.
