Description

Ramon A. Escalante “Anasazi I & II” Signed Pine Wall Art – 1995

A signed pair of carved and painted pine wall plaques titled Anasazi I and Anasazi II by Ramon A. Escalante, dated 1995. Inspired by Ancestral Puebloan ceramic motifs, these sculptural forms mimic traditional olla jars in silhouette, each crafted from a solid piece of pine and rendered in bold, geometric relief.

Each piece features intricate incising and painted highlights in earthy tones of cream, rust, and black, referencing classic Southwest Native American design language. The fronts are carefully textured and finished, while the backs are signed and dated by the artist with integrated wall hangers.

A unique and compact set perfect for adding regional flair to any Western, Native American-inspired, or rustic decor.

Condition

In good condition with minor surface wear. Light scuffing and small marks are present, consistent with age and handling, but do not detract from the visual appeal. Both plaques remain structurally sound with vibrant coloration and clean edges. Please refer to the photos for close-up views.
