Description

Aile Lee Studio Pottery Set, 1976 — Hand-Glazed, Signed, 8 Pieces

Charming and expressive, this hand-thrown studio pottery set by Aile Lee, dated 1976, exemplifies the tactile beauty of artisan ceramics. The 8-piece collection includes a large lidded vessel, a butter dome with plate, a smaller covered jar, a handled bowl, and four chalice-style cups. Each piece is uniquely glazed in a warm palette of earth tones—rich browns, ochres, and soft creams—applied with gestural flair across the surfaces.

Distinctive coiled handles and rounded forms give the set a sculptural presence, ideal for display or rustic table settings. The underside of the largest piece is signed Aile Lee and dated 1976. This set is a standout example of mid-century or 1970s studio pottery craftsmanship, blending functionality with artistic individuality.

Condition

Good overall with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The large covered dish has been previously repaired, visible along the interior rim. Glazing remains vibrant, and all pieces retain structural integrity.
