Mad Jack's Facebook page states that they are a Central Texas style Barbecue Joint in Cloudcroft, NM. The restaurant is one of the most popular in Cloudcroft. Usually there is a long line of folks waiting somewhat patiently for James Jackson's tasty barbecue, especially around lunchtime and on busy weekends. Lots of people rave about Mad Jack's barbecue, and will not hesitate to stand in the long lines to get food they love. Our friend James was very generous and kind to help 1CaT, and we are very grateful. There are two chances for you to enjoy a large batch (or several smaller meals) of Mad Jack’s famous Cloudcroft Barbecue.

About the Cook:

Beginning in 2012, James started a second career smoking meats in his hometown of Lockhart, TX, and had a food trailer there for a while. He relocated to Cloudcroft in April 2015, and opened Mad Jack's May 23 of that same year. Unfortunately for Cloudcroft, after 10 years of feeding throngs of folks in and through our quaint mountain village, James will be selling his Barbecue Joint as soon as he finds the right person or people to take over his popular space. Whenever that happens, we wish the absolute best for James in his future endeavors and eventual retirement.
