Off the Beaten Path co-owner Berle Van Zandt created this piece several years ago, but it has just been waiting on the right time to bring it out. Using poppy jasper oval and cube beads, black onyx cube beads, sterling silver round beads, and Argentium silver findings, this can work as a 25.5” long necklace, or with a quick change of ends, it can become a functional eyeglass leash (🕶️peeper👓 keeper). For those of you who don’t know, Argentium silver is similar to sterling, but has more fine silver and germanium in it, which makes it more tarnish-resistant than sterling silver. Our Cloudcroft, NM gift shop/gallery Off the Beaten Path co-owner Berle Van Zandt creates almost all of the jewelry our shop currently carries, and she loves doing it. About 30 years ago, Clem Rand, Berle's mother-in-law, gave her a roll of leather. Berle bought a few beads, and thus began her creative phase. Luckily for us, this phase has continued to grow and evolve.
