Fused Glass Angel with Copper Wings, by Glass Artist Carla Wolff View Watchlist >
A few years ago, one of our customers gave us two fused glass angels that she had created. At that time, we remember that Carla Wolff was working in glass fusing and stained glass, as well. She shared two of her unique angels with us, and we were and are grateful. The bodies of Carla’s angels are made of fused glass. Several individual pieces of glass were fused (melted) together in a kiln at around 1500-1800° F. The wings were cut out of copper sheeting, and Carla scored the copper to give the wings texture and a bit more depth. The angels’ heads are glass beads. Carla used copper wire to attach the heads to the angels’ bodies. We have enjoyed Carla’s angels for a while, and decided that 1CaT should benefit from her kind gesture. Carla’s angels now need to be hung in an angel lover's home to be enjoyed for many more years to come. Although we were unable to find any information about the artist Carla Wolff, some glass artist friends estimate the value of this angel to be $25-35.
