Some of you may know that Donna Rand is the true founder of 1CaT. She also is one of the cofounders of Off the Beaten Path, along with Berle Van Zandt. Donna began trapping cats in 2011. In the years following, she was able to trap more than 100 feral cats and have them spayed/neutered, until her body was no longer able to cooperate with the physical demands of cat trapping.
As many of you know, Donna has multiple sclerosis. Her mobility has gotten more and more challenged as the years have progressed since MS came back with a vengeance in 2016. She and Berle bought their bicycles brand new and rode them a few times through the years, but never as much as they wanted. Finally Donna has decided that her extremely low-mileage bike will benefit our cats. This 17” Specialized brand bike has 21 speeds and Techtro U brakes. It was ordered especially for Donna by our longtime friend Matt Willett at High Altitude. Matt’s “bike fixit guy” Brandon tells us that the value of this freshly refurbed bicycle is around $200.
