Zapotec-Style Wool Rug by El Paso Saddle Blanket Co – 40", India, Red/Gold
This vibrant 40-inch handwoven wool rug from El Paso Saddle Blanket Co was made in India and features bold Zapotec-style motifs. Set against a rich red background, the central diamond medallions are rendered in gold, blue, and cream with surrounding stylized “hourglass” figures. Decorative bands at either end incorporate stepped fretwork (greca) and horizontal stripes in teal, ochre, orange, and black.
Woven from 90% wool, the rug has a soft yet sturdy handfeel, ideal for use as a table runner, wall hanging, or entry accent. Braided tassels at each corner enhance the handcrafted aesthetic. While inspired by traditional Zapotec textile design, this rug is globally produced and tagged accordingly.
