Noisy Water "Don’t Tell Mamma" Dry Apple Wine, Noisy Water Winery, View Watchlist >
Ruidoso and Cloudcroft, NM
“Serious wine with humble beginnings.” On a sign in their Cloudcroft tasting room, there is a large sign that states, “We are New Mexico born and New Mexico True. (including our grapes)”. Our friend and Noisy Water Cloudcroft Tasting Room manager Lindsey Parks was very kind to help 1CaT, and we are most grateful. Several items in 6 different lots show part of the variety of items that Noisy Water sells. And these are just scratching the surface. Whenever you are in Cloudcroft, stop by the Tasting Room and Mercantile, and tell them we sent you.
Tasting Notes: Inspired by our farming roots, this wine has a refreshing tartness that comes from orchards across New Mexico. A dry, light- to medium-bodied wine, it has notes of green apple, blossom and mulled spice. The value of this bottle is $32.
About Noisy Water Winery:
Many folks do not realize that there is a thriving wine industry in New Mexico, known for its high desert and rocky mesas. But the state’s sunny days and cool nights combine to produce abundant grapes for its 40+ wineries. A little known fact is that New Mexico has the oldest winemaking region in the country.
Noisy Water Winery is a family-owned 5th-generation winery established in 2009 and still based in Ruidoso. They now have tasting rooms in Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, Alto, Red River, and Albuquerque, and distribute their wines across New Mexico and the US.
Jasper Riddle, an Italian vintner who has been working with Noisy Water for a while, states, “There’s a unity now, within the industry, to get New Mexico wines on the map versus fighting over whose wine is better, especially over the past three to four years. There are a lot of bridges being built.“
