This nifty mug was created by our friend Amy Ewing. Fairly new ceramic artist Amy hasn't been creating that long, but she was very kind and donated two pieces of her art to help 1CaT, and we are grateful. This mug had the design rolled into the slab of clay before it was cut out, then it was carefully shaped, fired, and glazed. The texturing that Amy chose really looks great on her mug. The beautiful teal glaze color is not truly represented in the photo -- the lovely teal is much nicer in person. Check out the closeup photos to see some details of Amy's mug. Amy Ewing is a Las Cruces teacher and hobby potter. She has found she prefers hand building to throwing on the wheel and enjoys all that can be created from a slab of clay. Amy was very kind and made a special trip to Cloudcroft just to deliver her art and a couple other items to us, and we are exceedingly grateful!
