Roseville Apple Blossom Basket 1BK-12 — Russet Glaze, Sculptural Form
A sculptural and highly decorative Roseville Pottery basket in the Apple Blossom pattern, shape 1BK-12, produced around 1948–1954. This dramatic tall-form basket features a bold, arching handle, a flared, asymmetrical spout, and textured floral decoration on both sides with creamy white blossoms and green leaves. The piece is finished in the line’s signature russet matte glaze, fading subtly from reddish-brown to warm clay.
Marked on the base “Roseville U.S.A. 1BK-12”, this piece exemplifies the dynamic late-period designs Roseville introduced to compete with mid-century modern trends while maintaining their hand-finished, nature-inspired motifs.
