Description

Kodak Instamatic Camera Lot (5) – Vintage 1960s–70s

A nostalgic collection of five original Kodak Instamatic cameras spanning the 1960s–1970s, showcasing the rapid evolution of consumer photography. This lot includes both U.S.- and German-made models, from entry-level snapshot devices to a premium, precision-engineered camera. A visually striking display group and an excellent addition to any vintage camera collection.
Included Models:

  • Kodak Instamatic 300 (USA, 1963–1966) – A mechanical, early-generation Instamatic featuring a fixed-focus Kodar f/11 lens and selenium light meter. Uses 126 cartridge film with manual aperture settings and a pop-up flash mount. Distinctive for its metal front and retro form factor.
  • Kodak Instamatic 314 (USA, 1968–1971) – A later, compact model offering dual shutter speeds (1/40 and 1/90 sec) and a 43mm f/11 lens. Flashcube-ready with improved styling and portability. Known for its reliability and bright viewfinder.
  • Kodak Instamatic X-15 (USA, 1970–1976) – This simple, durable point-and-shoot camera was a household favorite. It features Magicube compatibility, a fixed-focus lens, and minimal controls—perfect for effortless snapshot photography.
  • Kodak Instamatic X-35F (USA, late 1970s) – An upgraded version with a built-in electronic flash, giving it an edge for indoor or low-light photography. Uses 126 film with two-zone focus and simple exposure settings. Finished with a leatherette panel for a more refined look.
  • Kodak Instamatic 500 (Germany, 1963–1966) – The standout in the group, this premium Instamatic boasts a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 38mm f/2.8 lens, Prontor 500 LK shutter, and full manual controls. Built-in Gossen selenium meter and all-metal construction make this a favorite among collectors.
