Description

1950's Rock-Ola Model 1555 Wall Jukebox – Classic Chrome

This Rock-Ola Model 1555 isn’t just a jukebox—it’s a memory machine from the golden age of American diners. Produced between 1958 and 1962, it once hung proudly on the walls of soda shops, roadside cafés, and neon-lit burger joints, where music was chosen one coin at a time and every booth had its own soundtrack.

With its gleaming chrome body, iconic red Rock-Ola marquee, and curved glass window framing nine flip pages (for 120 selections), this jukebox wallbox captures the spirit of an era. Red and blue pushbuttons let patrons cue up hits by The Platters, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Patsy Cline. The printed plate offers a charming reminder of the cost of happiness: 7 plays for a half dollar, 3 for a quarter, 1 for a dime—or 2 nickels.

You can almost hear the hiss of the soda fountain and the crackle of a 45 sliding into play on the main machine.  Imagine the lights dimmed low, the smell of hot fries in the air, and the gentle click of buttons pressed in anticipation. This jukebox brought music into the hands of the people—no app, no screen, just heart. It was the voice of a generation that danced, dreamed, and fell in love to songs spinning from behind chrome and glass.

Whether you’re a collector, a restorer, or a storyteller, this Rock-Ola 1555 offers something rare: not just an object, but a feeling. A real, tactile piece of a time when life moved a little slower—and every nickel had soul.
