Description

Camillus® M3 Trench Knife – 1990s Reproduction w/ Leather Grip & Sheath

This is a 1990s commercial reproduction of the iconic U.S. M3 trench knife, manufactured by Camillus®. Originally designed during World War II for American paratroopers, Army Rangers, and elite units, the M3 knife has become a symbol of close-quarters combat and field utility. This particular example is a collector’s reproduction, crafted to resemble the wartime models while bearing key post-war manufacturing characteristics.

📌 Features & Details

  • Blade: 6.5-inch spear-point, parkerized finish, no fullers

  • Markings: Guard stamped “U.S. M3 CAMILLUS” (post-war location)

  • Handle: Stacked leather washer grip, firm and secure

  • Pommel: Single-pin construction (distinct from WWII originals which had two pins)

  • Sheath: Leather reproduction sheath with brass rivets, stitched and riveted, includes intact leather leg tie and snap retention strap

📏 Dimensions

  • Blade Length: 6.5 inches

  • Overall Knife Length: 11.5 inches

  • Length in Sheath: 14 inches

📦 Condition

In very good condition overall with minimal handling wear. The blade shows light oxidation and surface wear, consistent with age and storage. Handle is intact and tight, with some expected darkening of the leather. Sheath remains supple and complete with all hardware present. Ideal for display, reenactment, or collection.

🔎 Authenticity Note

This knife is not a WWII-issued original. It is a 1990s reproduction produced by Camillus for commercial and collector markets. Distinctive features such as the single-pin pommel and guard stamp placement confirm its post-war manufacture. While not a battlefield relic, it stands as a faithful homage to the legendary M3 trench knife and serves as an accessible alternative for military history enthusiasts.
