Youngstown Steel Kitchen Cabinet Set – Butcher Block Top, c.1950s
A classic mid-century steel kitchen cabinet set by Youngstown Kitchens, produced by the Mullins Manufacturing Corporation in the 1950s. This three-piece ensemble includes a base cabinet with a solid 1.5-inch thick butcher block oak top and two matching wall-mount cabinets. Finished in tan enamel with signature chrome handles, each piece reflects the sleek, utilitarian design of the postwar American home.
The lower cabinet bears the iconic “Youngstown Kitchens” mark embossed at the lower right corner and is adorned with the original red "Diana the Huntress" medallion—a hallmark of the brand during this era. The durable steel construction and wood top make this a practical yet collectible set, ideal for retro kitchen restorations, studio spaces, or vintage-themed interiors.
Produced during a time when steel cabinetry was marketed for its hygienic and modern qualities, this set captures the streamlined aesthetic and optimism of 1950s domestic design. A versatile and sturdy group with both display and functional appeal.
Condition:
In good condition overall, with finish wear and signs of age-appropriate use. Notable areas of enamel loss, scuffs, and surface wear throughout. Some surface rust is present along the base of the lower cabinet. Chrome handles show minor pitting. Despite cosmetic flaws, all components are structurally sound and remain functional.
