Vintage 1969 Kistler 3D Raised Relief Map of New Mexico – Solid Wood Frame
This vintage 1969 raised relief map of New Mexico was produced by Kistler Graphics using topographic data from the U.S. Geological Survey. Designed to illustrate the state's dramatic elevation changes—from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to desert basins—the map features molded 3D terrain in vivid colors, along with detailed cities, highways, and rail lines.
Framed in solid wood with a recessed cream-colored mount, this piece reflects the educational and decorative cartographic style of the late 1960s. The vertical scale is approximately 1" = 1,000', and the horizontal scale is 1" = 25 miles.
Condition:
Fair. There is visible chipping and cracking to the molded relief at the lower right corner, with an additional crack at the top left. Despite the damage, the main map area remains legible and intact for display or reference.
