Patricia Joslin Smith Native American Tray — Signed, 12" Wide
Offered here is a hand-built ceramic tray by Patricia Joslin Smith, a member of the Ioway (Baxoje) Tribe and founder of The Black Bear Pottery and Art in Trabuco Canyon, California. This signed piece exemplifies her modern interpretation of Native American ceramic traditions.
The tray features a sculptural, asymmetrical form with textural contrasts—smooth, glazed burnt-orange terracotta paired with a striated aqua-toned section. A rolled clay accent enhances its organic, handmade character. Functional and decorative, this piece is marked lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe, combining utility with artistry.
Signed verso and affixed with the original maker’s label, this work reflects both cultural heritage and contemporary craft sensibility—ideal for collectors of Native American art or distinctive studio pottery.
