Mid-Century Ceramic Mirror in the Style of Fausto Melotti — 11" Diameter
This sculptural mid-century ceramic mirror features a richly textured circular frame finished in bronze and gold patina. With its deeply organic form and metallic glaze, the piece echoes the distinct style of Italian modernist Fausto Melotti (1901–1986), known for merging abstraction and rhythm in clay.
The mirror is entirely ceramic, with a high-fired glazed surface on the front and terracotta clay visible on the back. Its pod-like ridged border creates a striking visual rhythm, suitable for collectors of Italian modernism, Brutalist design, or studio pottery.
Though unsigned, the piece closely resembles Melotti’s 1950s mirrors in form and finish and may be attributed to the same design school or workshop tradition.
Condition
Good condition with no chips, cracks, or visible damage. Mirror surface is clear, and hanging wire is intact on the reverse.
