Pair of Hand-Painted Talavera Wall Crosses – Signed Gonzalez. & Mexico
This pair of hand-painted Talavera ceramic wall crosses showcases the vibrant craftsmanship of Mexican folk pottery. The larger cross is signed “Tal.Glez.”, a likely abbreviation for Talavera González—a common artisan naming convention in Mexico. While not from a certified Talavera workshop, this signature suggests the piece was handmade by an independent artisan working in the Talavera tradition. The smaller cross is marked “Mexico” on the unglazed reverse.
Featuring bold floral and geometric motifs in rich, colorful glazes, both crosses are made of glazed terracotta and include holes for wall hanging. These decorative accents highlight traditional techniques and are ideal for collectors or as spiritual home décor.
