Description

Charles Zaida Dulcimer #265 — Solid Wood, 1986, 4-String

Offered here is a handcrafted Appalachian dulcimer by Charles Zaida, marked "#265, April 1986" on the rear and also signed inside. This 4-string instrument features a traditional hourglass silhouette and is crafted from solid wood, with rich natural grain variation throughout. It includes both crescent and f-hole style sound openings, and brass frets over a raised fretboard. Chrome-plated geared tuners are fitted at the pegbox for tuning stability.

A fine example of American folk luthiery, this dulcimer combines a clean, resonant design with rustic craftsmanship. Whether played or displayed, it makes a beautiful addition to any traditional instrument collection.

Condition:
In good condition with moderate wear and light scuffing from use. Evidence of a previous repair to the front is visible, but the structure appears stable. The finish retains a warm tone, and all components, including tuners and frets, remain intact.

Dimensions:
34 x 7 x 3.5 inches
