Cramer Oak Side Chair — Thomasville NC, c.1900
A turn-of-the-century oak side chair by Cramer Furniture Company, Thomasville, North Carolina. Featuring a wide, scroll-cut crest rail, shaped back splat with carved detail, and a tack-trimmed inset seat panel, this piece blends early 20th-century craftsmanship with functional design. Constructed in solid oak with turned stretchers and simple lathe-turned front legs, the chair retains its original green maker's label under the seat.
Produced by one of the South’s leading furniture firms before its 1914 acquisition by Thomasville Chair Company, this chair reflects the industrial rise of American furniture-making in the Carolinas.
Ideal as a display piece or for occasional seating.
