Benjamin Chee Chee “Dancing Goose” – Signed 1975 Lithograph, Framed
"Dancing Goose" is a 1975 lithograph by Benjamin Chee Chee (1944–1977), one of the most influential artists of the second-generation Woodland School. Known for his sleek, contemporary linework and expressive restraint, Chee Chee departed from traditional Indigenous narratives, choosing instead to emphasize form, movement, and elegance.
Rendered in soft golden tones and black ink, the dancing goose is characterized by sweeping curves and fluid lines—a hallmark of Chee Chee’s distinctive visual style. Signed and dated "Benjamin Chee Chee ’75" in the lower right, the lithograph is professionally matted and presented in a clean, contemporary frame behind glass.
Condition:
In good condition, with no visible damage. Toning is present around the outer edges of the paper, typical for the period and unobtrusive to the image. The frame and matting are clean and well-kept.
Dimensions:
Overall (framed): 11.25 x 14.25 inches
Visible artwork: 5.5 x 8.5 inches
