Benjamin Chee Chee “Dancing Goose” – Signed 1975 Print, Framed
“Dancing Goose” is a 1975 signed print by Benjamin Chee Chee (1944–1977), one of the most influential artists of the second generation Woodland School. Known for his sleek, contemporary linework and expressive restraint, Chee Chee broke from traditional Indigenous narratives to focus on form, motion, and elegance.
Rendered in soft golden tones and black ink, the dancing goose is defined by its sweeping curves and fluid composition—a hallmark of Chee Chee’s refined visual language. Signed and dated “Benjamin Chee Chee ’75” in the lower right, the piece is professionally matted and framed behind glass.
Condition:
In excellent condition, with no visible damage. Minor toning is present around the outer edges of the paper, typical for the period and unobtrusive to the image. The frame and matting are clean and well-kept.
Dimensions:
Overall (framed): 11.25 x 14.25 inches
Visible artwork: 5.5 x 8.5 inches
