Description

Stiffel Atomic Brass & Lucite Floor Lamp – Rocket Base, c.1960

A sculptural and functional piece of mid-century design, this Stiffel brass and Lucite floor lamp, circa 1960, combines elegant materials with a bold, space-age sensibility. The lamp features a solid brass standard rising from a distinctive four-point base — a design reminiscent of rocket fins or atomic-era forms, capturing the futuristic optimism of postwar American modernism. Midway up the column, a circular Lucite table offers both balance and practical surface space.

Above, a three-socket light cluster is housed under the original ivory drum shade. The piece retains its original “Stiffel” maker’s label, verifying its provenance and aligning it with the high-quality standards the brand is known for. Collectors and designers will appreciate the lamp’s striking silhouette, functional elegance, and authentic mid-century materials.

Condition:
In good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The Lucite table shows visible surface scratching and the brass has areas of oxidation and patina, primarily on the base. The lamp is fully functional and has been tested. All three sockets are working. Please review photos for details.
