David Val D'Avia Hammered Tin Oil Lamp – Hong Kong Wick, Signed
This distinctive oil lamp is a handmade piece by David Val D'Avia, marked clearly on the underside with his signature and crest. Crafted from hammered tin with a conical body and side ring handle, the lamp includes a classic hurricane-style glass chimney and a burner marked "Made in Hong Kong." The lamp’s surface bears the subtle texture of hand-hammering, reflecting traditional craftsmanship. Likely dating from the mid-20th century, it combines utilitarian function with artisanal design.
Signed on the underside: “ETAIN FIN DE VAL DAVID” with a logo of leaves and geometric shapes. The wick control knob also bears the origin stamp, pointing to an international assembly. A fine collectible for those who appreciate mid-century folk metalwork or functional decorative art.
