Harrison Begay “Eagle Dance” Framed Navajo Serigraph
This vintage serigraph by celebrated Navajo artist Harrison Begay (H. Begay) features a striking depiction of the Eagle Dance, a ceremonial performance representing spiritual connection and reverence for the eagle in Native American traditions. Rendered in Begay’s signature style—with clean outlines, symbolic detail, and soft matte tones—the dancer is adorned with feathered wings and traditional regalia against a warm ochre background.
Published by Tewa Enterprises in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this print is titled “Eagle Dance” at lower left and includes Begay’s printed name at lower right, as typical of Tewa screenprints from the 1950s. Professionally framed under glass with a soft gray-blue double mat and a dark wood frame, this work exemplifies Begay’s mastery in portraying Navajo and Pueblo ceremonial life.
A culturally resonant and visually compelling work of mid-century Indigenous art.
Condition:
In good condition. There is a visible 0.25" water stain to the left of the dancer and general toning to the paper, likely from age. The frame shows light surface scuffs and wear but remains stable and display-ready. Please refer to the photos for detail.

Overall (framed): 9.75 x 10.5 inches
