Victorian Eastlake Walnut Hall Tree with Mirror, Bench & Original Cast Iron Umbrella Stands
A fine late 19th-century Victorian Eastlake hall tree, crafted in solid walnut with hand-carved details and burled walnut veneer panels. The tall, architectural back features a central mirror framed by seven turned coat hooks and decorative incised carvings, topped with a crest of scrolls, rosettes, and a central cartouche. Flanking the built-in bench are circular umbrella holders, each fitted with its original removable cast iron drip pan—decorated with a raised floral motif and showing a rich, aged patina.
Designed in the Eastlake style popular in the 1880s–1890s, this hall tree reflects the era’s emphasis on geometric ornamentation, fine materials, and functional elegance. Original cast iron pans are a rare survival and enhance the collectible value. Generously scaled, it serves as both a practical storage solution and a striking decorative statement for a foyer or entry hall.
Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Surface scratches, scuffing, and finish wear present throughout, with approximately 1" x 1" veneer loss on the left side and prior stable repair to the right bottom umbrella stand. Minor chips to carved elements and wear to mirror’s reflective finish. Structurally sturdy and stable; cast iron pans show expected oxidation and patina.
