Description

1975 J. Rogers Jr. Custom Acoustic Guitar A-60B w/ Case

A 1975 J. Rogers Jr. Custom Acoustic Guitar, Model A-60B, serial number 04373-0, hand-built in Riverside, California. The interior label reads “Monarch Musical Instruments – Custom Hand Crafted by J. Rogers Jr.”, confirming the luthier’s boutique branding. Constructed with a spruce top and figured maple back and sides, this guitar features decorative wood inlays, ornate mother-of-pearl fretboard markers, and a distinctive scalloped headstock. The rosette and integrated armrest bevel further highlight the artisan craftsmanship.

J. Rogers Jr. guitars were produced in very limited numbers, making them rare in today’s market. This example, built under his “Monarch Musical Instruments” name, represents both the artistry and individuality of California’s independent luthiers of the 1970s. Included is the original black hard-shell case with plush blue interior, along with a set of new, unopened D’Addario strings.

Condition

In good condition overall, showing age and use.Veneer wear is visible on the neck. The case has scuffs, rust to the latches, and handling marks but remains protective. Despite cosmetic wear, the guitar is structurally sound and a fine example of boutique American luthiery.
