Longaberger Handwoven Peg Baskets – Signed 1987 & 1995 w/ Booklet
Pair of authentic Longaberger handwoven peg baskets, both produced in Dresden, Ohio, USA. These collectible examples are signed and dated on the underside, one from 1987 and the other from 1995. Each is crafted from maple splints in a warm honey finish, with reinforced rims and a single swing handle secured with brass tacks. Included is the original Longaberger booklet, enhancing the set’s provenance and collectible value.
The Longaberger Company, founded by Dave Longaberger in 1973, became renowned for its handmade baskets, each signed and dated by the artisan. Production in Dresden, Ohio, ended in 2018, making earlier baskets highly sought after. Peg baskets, a versatile and iconic Longaberger form, remain a favorite among collectors for their decorative charm and functional design.
Condition
Good condition overall, with signs of use consistent with age. Both baskets remain sturdy, with clear signatures and dates visible on the bases. Light wear is present but does not detract from their appeal.
