Set of 4 German Hand-Painted Beer Steins w/ Pewter Lids
Collection of four vintage German beer steins, each hand-painted in colorful relief with traditional alpine and tavern scenes. Three feature original pewter lids with ornate thumb lifts, while one is lidless. Bases are marked “Germany,” “Made in Germany,” or “Western Germany,” with mold numbers such as 703 and 708, consistent with mid-20th century production. One example bears the Gerz crown hallmark.
These steins display finely detailed craftsmanship with raised decoration, German sayings, and bright glaze work. Themes include folk dancers, mountain chalets, and rustic tavern gatherings. A handsome grouping for display, gifting, or addition to a stein collection.
Condition:
Good overall with age-appropriate wear. Surfaces show expected crazing from age and light handling marks. Pewter lids remain intact with moderate tarnish. Colors are still vibrant, and no major cracks or chips were noted. Please review photos for full details.
