Isleta Pueblo Pottery Bowl – Hand-Coiled & Painted, Signed
Hand-coiled and hand-painted pottery bowl from Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico, likely mid-20th century. The vessel is decorated in bold geometric motifs in black and orange-red over a cream slip, arranged in repeating triangular and stylized floral-like patterns. The underside bears faint pencil inscriptions including “Elaine … / made by Mrs. … / Isleta,” linking the piece directly to Isleta Pueblo traditions.
Condition
Displays chips, scuffing, and shelf wear consistent with age and handling. A 0.25" chip is present along the rim, and cracks extend from the rim downward. Painted decoration shows surface wear and minor loss, though overall motifs remain clear. Stable as a display piece.
