Marc Sijan Art Nouveau Style Ceramic Wall Mirror with Female Profile
Decorative ceramic wall mirror by American artist Marc Sijan (b. 1946), known primarily as the “master of hyperrealism” for his lifelike figurative sculptures. This earlier work reflects Sijan’s exploration of decorative arts during the late 1970s–1980s, where he combined ceramic relief with Art Nouveau revival aesthetics. The design features a sculpted female profile in high relief, framed by flowing organic lines and a cobalt-blue floral motif against a cream ground. Hand-applied glazes show intentional tonal variation, with surface craquelure enhancing the vintage appeal. The piece is signed on the reverse.
Comparable ceramic mirrors by Sijan from this period have appeared at auction and in private sales, often commanding strong collector interest for their rarity and distinctive style. With its substantial form and striking composition, this mirror would make a compelling focal point in either a fine art collection or an Art Nouveau–inspired interior.
